Al is a professional engineer with 40 years of experience and the Vice Chairman, Illinois, for Grumman/Butkus Associates, a nationally recognized consulting engineering firm that specializes in mechanical, electrical and plumbing design services and energy and resource consulting for buildings. An active and lifelong philanthropist and a resident of Evanston since 1975, Al is a member of the Board of Directors for Evanston’s Youth Organizations Umbrella, Inc. (Y.O.U.) and a member of their Facilities Committee. He is also active in Evanston’s McGaw YMCA where he serves as the Chair of the Building Committee and is a member of its Finance Committee and its Annual Campaign Committee. In 2010 Al established the Ellen F. Butkus Endowment to honor the work and celebrate the retirement of his wife, Ellen, then outgoing Executive Director of Senior Connections.
Robert is an associate in the Chicago office of Paul Hastings. He is a member of the Corporate practice, where he concentrates in the areas of mergers & acquisitions, joint ventures and private equity investments. He has represented strategic and financial buyers and sellers in connection with complex transactions across a variety of industries, including the aerospace & defense, aircraft, alternative energy, automotive, computer hardware, consumer products and services, financial products, healthcare IT, healthcare services, home building products, gaming, manufacturing, mining, music, pharmaceutical, software and supply chain industries. In addition, he has extensive experience advising companies with respect to general corporate and commercial matters, including with respect to license agreements, service agreements, supply agreements, employment agreements, consulting agreements, stockholder agreements, operating agreements and partnership agreements. From 2004 until joining Paul Hastings in 2010, Mr. Clarke was an associate in the Corporate department of a Chicago-based national law firm. He also served as a law clerk to the Honorable David T. Prosser of the Wisconsin Supreme Court for the 2003-2004 term.
Harvey Whitfield, M.D.
Harvey is an Associate Professor (retired), having taught at the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor Department of Biological Chemistry, and at the University of Illinois at Chicago in the Departments of Psychiatry, Molecular Biology and Biochemistry. Harvey was also an attending psychiatrist, Day Treatment Center, at the Jesse Brown Veterans Administration Medical Center in Chicago. Harvey was a member of the Genetic Basis of Disease and Mental Disorders of Aging review committees at the National Institutes of Health, one of the world's foremost medical research centers, located in Bethesda, Maryland on which he consulted and advised nationally on grant applications.
